Fun fact: during the development of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Reggie Fils-Aime commented that the pokemon games could use more of "the Reggienator." The Regi trio was made shortly thereafter.

Reggie is solely responsible for the creation of fun several thousand years before the concept was even moderately explored. When asked why he didn’t release it then, he simply stated “No body will be ready.”
